About the Event

This workshop is often described as an eye opener, giving participants their first peak through a pair of Permaculture goggles.

Would you like a garden that works with nature and yields an abundance of food, fibre and energy?

Permaculture (a term coined from ‘permanent’ + ‘agriculture’) is the conscious design and maintenance of agriculturally productive ecosystems which have the diversity, stability, and resilience of natural ecosystems.

This introductory workshop, presented by permaculturalist and educator Fiona Blackham, will cover topics including: History of permaculture and the science behind it; Design – ethics and principles underpinning permaculture; Understanding what you have and how you can work with it (sectors); Managing resources and time (zones); and Functionality of permaculture design.

Tea, Coffee & morning tea will be provided.

Take homes: workshop notes, a head full of possibilities and a tummy full of tea, coffee & awesome treats.

As a fundraiser, ALL funds raised through purchased tickets, will go directly to the school camp for "The Alchemists", who are the Class 6 students in their final year at Silver Tree Steiner School in Parkerville.
