About the Event
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) (natural pest control) is an environmentally sensitive way of managing pests.
It uses a combination of practices and control methods with the aim of preventing problems from occurring and reducing the need for chemical pesticides.
This workshop will cover topics including: 'What are pests?' 'What are beneficial insects?' The ‘pest triangle’ and 'Creating a 5-step Integrated Pest Management System'. Participants will also get the chance to use a refractometer to see the difference between a diseased plant and a healthy plant and learn why this is important. Presented by permaculturalist and educator, Fiona Blackham.
This workshop is suitable for adults and children aged 14 and over. Places are limited, so bookings are essential. This FREE workshop is part of the Thinking Green workshop series.
